Secure resources to implement the existing bicycle network masterplan.
The existing bicycle masterplan (Dallas Bike Plan (2011)) has not been fully implemented due to a lack of resources and no dedicated manager. Hiring an in-house bicycle advocate and coordinator to update the bicycle masterplan and work through the existing implementation hurdles is key in rolling out the already approved plan. The new leadership should focus on network implementation in areas of highest priority, such as major live/work corridors and neighborhoods that lack bicycle infrastructure and struggle with existing connectivity. The plan should also be updated to accommodate additional micro mobility technologies (i.e. scooters) in addition to cycling.
